What is particular
to AGA.
In the US, AGA lists the Classic cast-iron ranges (including the eR7 and the 24-inch model), the Elise and Mercury ranges, rangetops and hoods, and no built-in wall oven. Because every AGA oven is part of a range, full code coverage belongs on the range site.
Three cast-iron ovens on one panel
The eR7 100 has roasting, baking and simmering ovens plus two hotplates, all run from one touch panel with five roasting and four baking settings. A cold oven on an eR7 is traced zone by zone, since each area is switched on its own.
S in the window is Slumber
In Slumber the ovens idle warm, and the roast and bake windows show the letter S. An S there is a setting somebody chose, not an error.
Codes on the handset and the panel
The eR7 shows a warning triangle and an error code on its handset, and AGA asks owners to pass that code to its service engineer. The panel itself can show FE, VE or CE, which AGA's service manual ties to the touch panel, the firmware and the link to the main controller.
A power cycle does not clear a locked zone
AGA's service manual says some eR7 errors lock a zone after repeated detection, and switching the power off and on will not clear them. The zone is repaired and then reset with the button on the main board.
Parts
AGA's guide asks owners to keep the serial number and AGA service number on record; parts for a cast-iron model are ordered only once the affected zone is known.
Repair or replace
An AGA range is a heavy, long-lived appliance, and one oven that will not heat is a repair rather than a reason to replace it.
