What is particular
to ILVE.

The US wall ovens are the 30-inch UOV30NTPY (Nostalgie II, six body colors and three trims) and UOV30STPY (Professional Plus II, stainless), both pyrolytic with a 4.4 cu. ft. cavity. ILVE ranges carry their own ovens and manuals and are handled as ranges.

Codes carry a cavity number

ILVE writes a system error as E, a two-digit code and a final digit for the cavity, with 0 reserved for general errors. Noting all three parts tells the technician which oven and which circuit to start with.

Pyrolytic cleaning near 850°F

The wall oven cleans itself by pyrolysis at around 850°F, and the door lock engages a few seconds after the cycle is selected. A door that stays locked points to the lock motor and its lock and unlock switches, which the wiring diagram lists as separate parts.

A software overheat cut-out

ILVE says the oven switches itself off and shows an error message if it reaches an excessive temperature. An oven that shuts down mid-cook has its cooling ventilation and vents checked, not just its breaker reset.

Dry and moist cooking modes

Several of the fifteen functions have a moist version, and a wax thermal actuator lets steam out of the cavity. A cavity that stays wet or dry when it should not points to that vent part.

How do I read an error code on an ILVE wall oven?
ILVE prints it as E, a two-digit number and a last digit for the cavity, with 0 meaning a general error. Note all three parts before you book a visit.
What does DOOR OPEN mean on my ILVE oven?
It is a warning that the door was opened while cooking was in progress. ILVE's instruction is to close the oven door; if the warning stays with the door shut, book a visit.
Can I change the ILVE oven light bulb myself?
ILVE describes switching off the power, removing the protective glass and fitting a bulb rated for high temperature. Let the oven cool fully before you start.
