What is particular
to SKS.

SKS lists 30-inch single and double wall ovens, steam-combi single and double ovens, a combination oven with speed cooking and steam, and a built-in microwave speed oven, in Professional and Transitional styles. Each has its own owner's manual and code table, so the model number is read before anything else.

The code names the cavity

On SKS double and combination ovens, F-9 belongs to the upper oven and F-19 to the lower one, and both mean that cavity is not heating. The code tells the technician which set of elements and wiring to test first.

Steam waits for descaling

After eight hours of steam use, an SKS steam-combi oven shows a descaling reminder and holds every steam mode until the Descaling function has run. A steam oven that refuses to steam may simply be waiting for that cycle.

Water on the oven floor is expected

During steam cooking the oven moves water from the feeder tank to the bottom of the cavity, and SKS says a puddle there is normal. White mineral marks come off with vinegar, while a tank drain clogged with scale stops steam altogether.

Sous vide beeps for water

The steam ovens also run sous vide, and the module beeps when it is started with the steam feeder tank empty. Filling the tank to its mark is the first check before anyone suspects the pump or the control.

My SKS double oven shows F-9. Which oven has the problem?
SKS lists F-9 as the upper oven not heating and F-19 as the lower one. Clear the display, try the upper oven again, and book a visit if F-9 comes back.
Why won't my SKS steam oven start a steam mode?
After about eight hours of steam cooking the oven asks for descaling and blocks steam until the Descaling function runs. If steam still fails afterward, the tank drain may be scaled or the tank may not be clicked fully into its slot.
Is water in the bottom of my SKS oven after steam cooking a leak?
Not by itself. SKS moves water from the feeder tank to the oven floor during steam cooking, so a pool there is expected; wipe it out once the oven cools and use vinegar on white residue.
What should I do if an F code appears during an SKS self-clean?
SKS says an F code with the error melody during self-clean means the oven is not working correctly in that mode. Switch the oven off at the breaker and book a visit instead of restarting the cycle.
