Samsung ovens,
specifically.

Samsung wall ovens report problems as C-codes, and the manuals for the NV51K and newer NV51CG double ovens print a table of them with the part each one concerns. A visit starts from that table, so a divider slid in mid-cook or a wet keypad is ruled out before a sensor or a board is ordered.

The Samsung lineup

What is particular
to Samsung.

Samsung's wall ovens include models with the Flex Duo divider and steam cooking. This page draws on the manuals for the NV51K7770D and NV51CG700D double wall ovens, whose code tables match except for the door lock code.

The Flex Duo divider has its own code

The divider turns the upper oven into two compartments, and inserting or removing it while the oven runs brings up -dC- (written -dE- on some models). Reseating it all the way in is Samsung's first step.

Steam models add water codes

On steam models a water reservoir feeds Steam Bake, Steam Roast and Hybrid Clean. The steam sensor and the drain side each have a code of their own, C-70 and C-72.

The door lock code was renumbered

The NV51K manual calls a mispositioned door lock C-d1; the newer NV51CG manual lists the same cause as C-d5 and adds trying to open the door as the first step.

A wet keypad reads as a stuck key

C-d0 appears when a control key reads as pressed for a full minute, and Samsung's first advice is to clean the buttons and make sure no water is on them.

Parts

Samsung parts are identified from the full model code on the label, including the suffix. Availability was not confirmed on a Samsung source.

Repair or replace

Divider, Demo mode and keypad codes are usually cleared without parts. A sensor, lock or board repair on a Flex Duo oven is normally sensible, since a replacement has to fit the same built-in opening.

Questions about
Samsung ovens.

My Samsung wall oven shows -dC-. Is the oven broken?
No. It means the Flex Duo divider was put in or taken out while the oven was running, or is not fully seated. Reseat it and restart the oven.
What is the difference between C-20 and C-21 on a Samsung oven?
C-20 is the oven sensor reading open or shorted; C-21 means the inside temperature rose abnormally high. C-21 is the one to treat as urgent.
My Samsung oven shows tESt and stays cold. Why?
Samsung uses tESt, or tE5t, for Demo mode, in which the oven does not heat. The steps to turn it off are in your model's user manual.
Which Samsung codes can I reset myself?
For most codes in the table, Samsung asks you to press OFF, restart, and if needed cut all power for 30 seconds. C-A2 and C-31 go straight to service.
