What is particular

This page draws on the owner's manual for LG's WSEP4727 single wall oven, read from LG's document server. LG's online code list is written for ranges, so it was not used for wall ovens.

Two F codes, clearly named

The WSEP4727 manual names F-3 as a shorted key and F-9 as an oven that is not heating. Any other F code is written down and reported rather than guessed at.

Steam needs descaling

After eight hours of steam use, LG shows a descaling reminder and holds back the steam mode until the Descaling function has run. A steam mode that will not start can simply be waiting for that cycle.

A diagnosis by sound

Holding START for three seconds makes the oven play tones that the LG ThinQ app turns into a diagnosis. Running it before the visit gives the technician a head start.

Self-clean trouble ends at the breaker

LG says an F code with three long beeps during self-clean means the cycle malfunctioned, and asks you to switch the oven off at the fuse or breaker and have it serviced.

Repair or replace

Loc, sb and a door left open during self-clean are settings or prompts, not failures. An F-9 that keeps returning on a newer wall oven is usually worth repairing; the ThinQ diagnosis helps decide which part is involved before the visit.
