What S
actually means.
An S in the roasting or baking oven window on an AGA eR7 means that oven has been put into Slumber. In Slumber all three ovens hold a low heat, about 120 °C (roughly 250 °F) in the roasting and baking ovens, so they behave like extra simmering ovens.

If you want full cooking heat, press and hold the M button for three seconds to leave Slumber.
Then pick the roasting or baking setting you need and wait for the oven light to stop blinking.
If S keeps coming back on its own, check whether an AUTO/Slumber schedule is set on the handset.
