What it
usually means.
A convection oven moves hot air with a fan behind the rear panel, usually wrapped by its own ring element. The fan is meant to start as the convection mode begins, sometimes after a short delay and often pausing when the door opens. When it stops, baking in convection becomes uneven and slow, and some ovens show a code. A fan that grinds or wobbles is usually a worn motor or a blade that has come loose, and running it that way wears the motor further.
The 5 causes, cheapest first
Answer these first
Does the fan not turn at all, or does it turn and make noise?
Does the fan stop only when the door is open, as designed, or also with it closed?
Is the rear element getting hot in convection modes?
Is there a grinding, scraping or humming from the back wall?
Does the oven show a code related to the fan?

Convection oven fan not working: 5 checks, and none of them costs anything.
Start a convection mode with the door closed and give the fan time to start, as some wait before turning.
Look through the window or listen at the door for the fan turning.
With the oven cold and off, look behind the rear cover for a blade that is bent or touching.
Also worth checking
- Make sure no rack or pan is pushed against the back panel.
- Say whether the fan is silent or noisy, and any code shown, when you book.
How soon does it need a visit?
Not urgent. Regular bake and broil still work in most ovens. If the fan grinds loudly or the oven smells hot, stop using convection until the visit.

5 things convection oven fan not working turns out to be, from fan blade loose or bent to relay or control not powering the fan.
The cost guide-
01 low
Fan blade loose or bent
A blade that has loosened on its shaft wobbles and scrapes the cover. A bent one, often from a rack pushed into the back panel, rattles.
-
02 low
Door switch not reporting closed
Most ovens stop the fan when the door opens. A switch that thinks the door is open keeps the fan off even with the door shut.
-
03 low
Convection element burned out
The fan may still turn while the ring element around it has failed. Air moves but does not heat, and convection results are pale.
-
04 moderate
Convection fan motor worn out
The motor's bearings dry and wear, the fan slows and then stops. A growl or a hum usually comes before it gives up.
-
05 moderate
Relay or control not powering the fan
The fan has its own output on the control board. A healthy motor with no power points to the board or the harness.
