What F10
actually means.
F10 on a Miele steam oven or combi-steam oven is a water inlet problem. Miele lists a feed pump that dried out after a long idle period, a black suction hose in the water container that is missing, loose or not upright, and water so low in minerals that the steam generator's electrode cannot detect it.

What to do when F10 shows on the ovenKind of codeSteam and water
The steam oven found its water tank empty, its supply short, or its steam generator slowed by scale. Refilling and seating the tank and running the descaling program come first; a pump, a level sensor or the generator is looked at only after that.
Usually leads toSteam system repair
A steam or combi-steam oven that makes no steam, weak steam or asks for water it already has, traced to scale, the pump, the generator or the tank sensor.
Shows up asOven Error Code
The oven shows letters and numbers, beeps, and stops a cycle or refuses to start one.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Miele's own guidance for F10 on its ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Check the black suction hose in the water container: it should be present, secure and standing vertically.
If your home water passes through a reverse-osmosis system, see whether it can be bypassed; Miele also suggests adding a pinch of salt to the water in the container.
If the oven sat unused for a very long time or the hose is cracked or missing, book a visit.
What not to do
F10 is not a drain problem and not a descaling reminder. It is about water getting in.
