Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Viking's own guidance for DESCALE NOW on its ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

If the oven has not been descaled recently, replace the water filter first.

02

Run the descaling program: it takes about 30 minutes, followed by two rinse phases that ask you to empty and refill the water tank.

03

Do not interrupt the program; the manual says it cannot be stopped once started.

04

If DESCALE NOW stays after a full program and a new filter, book a visit.

Questions
about DESCALE NOW.

Can I clear DESCALE NOW myself?
If the oven has not been descaled recently, replace the water filter first. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Viking combi steam oven want a new water filter along with DESCALE NOW?
The manual links DESCALE NOW to a scaled boiler and also to a partly blocked filter, which lets less water through. Changing the filter first gives the descale a fair test.
Can I stop the descale on my Viking once it has started?
No. Viking's manual says the descaling process cannot be interrupted for safety reasons, so start it when you can let it run to the end.
