What F4
actually means.
GE Profile wall ovens share GE's electronic code list, where F4 carries the same meaning as F3: the oven sensor most likely needs replacing. Which of the two numbers appears depends on the control in your oven.

What to do when F4 shows on the ovenKind of codeTemperature sensor
The reading from the temperature probe fell outside what the control will trust, or climbed far higher than the setting. A loose connector or a probe that has drifted is ruled out before the control itself, and a reading that runs away means the breaker goes off first.
Usually leads toTemperature sensor and calibration
Baking that comes out burnt or pale at the usual setting, traced to the sensor, its wiring or an oven that simply needs calibrating.
Shows up asOven Temperature Not Accurate
Recipes come out burnt or underdone at the right setting, and an oven thermometer reads far from the dial.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from GE Profile's own guidance for F4 on its ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Switch the oven off at the breaker for a minute or two.
If F4 returns, stop using the oven and book a visit.
Still there?
It usually turns into temperature sensor and calibration. Book with the code and the model number.
What not to do
F4 is not an Advantium speed-oven humidity sensor code on a regular Profile wall oven; that meaning belongs to the Advantium list.
What you may
notice with it.
The oven problems F4 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the oven before anyone is booked.
