or call (844) 407-1890

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from GE's own guidance for FD on its ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Unplug the probe and check it for damage.

02

Reset the breaker and bake without the probe.

03

Book a visit if FD returns with no probe plugged in.

Still there?

It usually turns into temperature sensor and calibration. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

FD is not the oven's main temperature sensor, which GE reports as F3 or F4.

What you may
notice with it.

The oven problems FD tends to arrive with. Answer these at the oven before anyone is booked.

Questions
about FD.

Can I clear FD myself?
Unplug the probe and check it for damage. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Will a new probe clear FD on my GE?
If the probe is the damaged part, yes. If FD still shows with nothing plugged in, the socket in the oven wall is the likely cause.
Can I keep using my GE oven with FD on the display?
Regular bake and broil do not need the probe. Test after a reset without the probe attached.

Still showing FD?

Book with the code exactly as shown, the full model number, and whether you can smell gas or burning — with a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
