What A2
actually means.
A2 means the door could not be locked after a Self Clean cycle was started. The lock has to return to its starting position before the cycle can be tried again.

What to do when A2 shows on the ovenKind of codeDoor and lock
The motorized lock did not reach the position the control asked for, or its switch reported the wrong one. Most often this shows during or after self-clean; the latch, its switches and the door's alignment are checked before the lock motor is replaced.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Fisher & Paykel's own guidance for A2 on its ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Turn the power to the oven off at the wall and back on.
Wait about 10 seconds so the door lock returns to its starting position.
Set the clock again.
Close the door firmly and start Self Clean again; book a visit if A2 returns.

What not to do
A2 does not mean the door is stuck shut. That is A3, after a cycle has finished.
What you may
notice with it.
The oven problems A2 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the oven before anyone is booked.
