What Show Room
actually means.
Smeg's Show Room mode switches off every heating element while leaving the control panel active. Demo Mode does the same and plays a demonstration on the display after a period of inactivity.

What to do when Show Room shows on the ovenKind of codeMode, not a failure
A setting someone switched on, or a state the oven entered on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a showroom mode that lights the display without heating. No part has broken and nothing has to be replaced.

The oven turns on and the display counts, but the cavity stays cold or only lukewarm after a long preheat.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Smeg's own guidance for Show Room on its ovens. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Open the settings menu and select Show Room.
Set it to Off and confirm; do the same for Demo Mode if it is on.
Try a bake. Book a visit only if the oven still does not heat.
Cleared?
The oven came through without a new part. If the same message returns during a later bake, or the oven stops heating partway through, book it as a fresh problem.
What not to do
An oven in Show Room mode has not failed. Smeg lists the setting first when an oven does not heat.
