On the east side of the peninsula the land slopes gently into San Diego Bay, so homes and development run right to the water's edge. ## What Point Loma does to an oven. Shelter Island, joined to Point Loma Village by a causeway, was built up into dry land in the 1950s from material dredged from the bay. Loma Portal lies directly under the takeoff path from San Diego International Airport, the source of the local "Point Loma Pause" in conversation. NOAA's Lindbergh Field station averages a daily high of 70.9 degrees F and a daily low of 58.5 degrees F across the year, by its 1991-2020 normals. [All of San Diego](https://ovenrepair.center/locations/san-diego/) ### On the water Hinge springs and the screws that hold a wall oven's trim can rust near salt water, so a door that drops or will not stay halfway open is a common complaint on the coast. ### Older housing stock Older houses often run a modern wall oven on wiring that was extended rather than replaced, and a double oven can draw more than an old branch circuit was meant to carry. Slow heating or a breaker that trips can start in the wall as easily as in the oven. ### Mixed housing A new oven set into an old kitchen still depends on the old circuit, the old cutout and whatever airflow the cabinet allows, so a repair here checks all three before condemning the oven. ## A visit in Point Loma.
