FD is GE's probe code. The control thinks the temperature probe, or the receptacle it plugs into inside the oven, has a problem. GE oven display What to do when FD shows on the oven ### Kind of code Temperature sensor The reading from the temperature probe fell outside what the control will trust, or climbed far higher than the setting. Unplug the probe and check it for damage. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Will a new probe clear FD on my GE? If the probe is the damaged part, yes. If FD still shows with nothing plugged in, the socket in the oven wall is the likely cause. ### Can I keep using my GE oven with FD on the display? Regular bake and broil do not need the probe.
