La Cornue is a French range maker, and its one built-in oven in the US is the Château Tourelle wall oven, an all-electric vaulted oven in 75 cm and 60 cm widths. The Tourelle runs on knobs, a thermostat and indicator lights, so service works from what the lights and the thermostat do rather than from codes. The Château Tourelle comes as the Tourelle 75 (29.4 inches wide) and the Tourelle 60 (23.5 inches), electric only, on a 240-volt, 15-amp breaker, and is designed to sit with a Château cooktop. The CornuFé and Château ranges have ovens of their own, which are range pages. ### The vaulted cavity The Tourelle uses La Cornue's patented vaulted oven shape, which the maker says moves air naturally and evenly. Baking results are judged against that shape, not against a square cavity. ### Thermostat marks, not degrees The guide lists thermostat marks Th 1 to Th 7 with a temperature band for each, such as Th 4 at 345 to 390°F. An oven that bakes a full mark off is tested against that table before the thermostat is replaced. ### Indicator lights tell the story The oven light stays on until the set temperature is reached and then cycles on and off, and the broil circuit has its own light. A light that never goes out while the cavity stays cool points to the heating side, not the knob. ### A heat-rated G9 lamp The cavity light is a 25 W, 220–240 V lamp with a G9 base rated to 570°F, behind a protection glass at the top of the side wall. An ordinary G9 bulb is not a substitute. Parts The Tourelle is new to the US line, so parts are specified from the model plate; element, thermostat and lamp values are listed in its installation and user guide. Repair or replace A thermostat, element or lamp on a Tourelle is a straightforward repair, and a hand-finished oven matched to a Château kitchen is rarely a candidate for replacement. Its guide lists none. The Tourelle works with a function selector, a thermostat, a broil control and indicator lights, so a problem shows as a light that behaves oddly or an oven that misses its mark. ### How hot is Th 5 on a La Cornue Tourelle? The guide puts Th 5 at 390 to 435°F. If dishes cook well outside that band, book a visit to have the thermostat checked. ### How long should my La Cornue Tourelle take to preheat? La Cornue quotes under 13 minutes to reach 390°F in convection mode. A preheat that takes far longer is worth a visit. ### What bulb does the La Cornue Tourelle use? A 25-watt lamp with a G9 base, rated for 220–240 volts and 570°F. Disconnect the oven and let it cool before removing the protection glass. --- **[Read on the site: La Cornue Oven Repair | OvenRepair.center](https://ovenrepair.center/brands/la-cornue/)** **[Book a visit with OvenRepair.center](https://ovenrepair.center/schedule/)**
